About: Gorakhgad is a fort built on a Butte structure that lies near the Ahupe Ghat. It is said that the name was given after the saint Gorakhnath who used to meditate there and in older times the fort was used to guard the surrounding areas.
One side of the fort is surrounded by dense forest and a large mountain range while on the other side lies a vast landscape making a beautiful panoramic view from the top. For shelter, there is a big cave that can afford more than 40 people at a time making it a good place for a night stay. The place is known for adventure activity rock climbing. There are lots of water cisterns on the top of the fort, the water is cold and potable throughout the year.
